CHEESE CHAMPIONS’ WINNING RECIPES CONTEST

OFFICAL CONTEST RULES

1. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

2. Eligibility: This Contest is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Advantage Sales & Marketing LLC d/b/a Try-Foods International (“Publisher”) and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates and their familes, sales representatives, and advertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, any such employees, are not eligible to enter or to win. The term “immediate family members” includes spouses, in-laws, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren.

3. Recipe Requirements: All submitted recipes must identify and use at least one cheese product available in the Safeway deli department. Recipes not meeting this requirement will be disqualified. More than one cheese may be used in the recipe. Recipes must be original, not previously published, and the entrant’s own creation and sole property.

4. How To Enter: Entries should be submitted online at cheesechampionsonline.com. Completed entries must include your recipe, a brief description, in 25 words or less, of yourself and the recipe, and a digital image of yourself. The contest will be open from January 31, 2010, until April 30, 2010 – all entries, whether submitted electronically or by regular mail, must be received by 12 Midnight Eastern Time on April 30, 2010. With your entry, also include: (1) your first and last name, indicating Ms., Mrs., or Mr.; and (2) your mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address. Entries not providing all of the above required information will be disqualified. No illegible, incomplete, forged or altered entries will be accepted. Publisher is not responsible for any late, damaged or lost entries due to postal delays or non-delivery of electronic or mailed entries for any reason, whether originating with sender or Publisher. Publisher is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer software problems or other problems on the Internet or with any e-mail system, and assumes no liability for damage to entrant’s or any person’s computer resulting from participating in the Contest. All entries become property of Publisher and none will be returned. Publisher reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Contest. Publisher reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these rules, that is alleged to infringe on any third party’s intellectual property rights, or that Publisher deems obscene, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate for viewing by a general audience. By submitting a recipe in this Contest, you agree to be bound by all of the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, including the grant of rights set forth in Paragraph 9; if you do not agree with these terms and conditions, do not submit an entry.

5. Winners: Thirty-six (36) winners will be chosen – thirty-six (36) winners published in one booklet. Each recipe will be tested by a team of experienced home economists retained by Publisher. Winners will be selected by Publisher on the basis of taste appeal, ease of preparation, originality, and compliance with the recipe requirements specified above. The decisions of Publisher are final, binding, and conclusive on all matters, including but not limited to selection of the prize winners. The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.

6. Publication: The thirty-six (36) winning recipes with finished dish photos will be published in one booklet titled Cheese Champions’ Winning Recipes to be distributed by Safeway in September of 2010. Thirty-six winners will be featured in one booklet containing their recipe with their image, name, city, Safeway store location, and a brief description of the winner, the recipe entered, and the featured cheese.

7. Prizes: Each winner will receive a $50 Safeway gift card. Gift cards are not exchangeable, refundable or redeemable for cash and are subject to the terms, conditions and restrictions of use as listed on the gift card. Approximate retail value of each gift card is $50. In addition, the Publisher will select one (1) grand prize winner from the thirty-six (36) finalists on the basis of their recipe’s taste appeal, ease of preparation, and originality of their recipe. The Grand Prize winner will receive an all-expense paid for one, 5-Day/5-Night CIA Boot Camp experience at the Culinary Institute of America campus of the winner’s choice: St. Helena, California, Hudson Valley, New York, or San Antonio, Texas. The grand prize consists of the following elements: [A] Accommodations for five nights plus hotel tax, class tuition, and [B] round-trip airfare for one (1) adult from the major airport nearest to the winner’s residence to closest airport to the CIA class location and back; [C] a rental car for five (5) days, (D) Visa gift cards with $400 per day ($2,000 total) for food, gas, entertainment, and other incidentals. All expenses not specifically mentioned herein are not included and are solely the winner's responsibility, including but not limited to: round trip transportation between the winner’s residence and the origination airport, all room service, food and beverage room service, parking fees, laundry service, alcoholic beverages, merchandise, souvenirs, telephone calls, tips, gratuities and service charges. Hotel regulations and conditions apply. Airline travel, car rental and lodging are subject to availability, certain restrictions and blackout dates. Classes are subject to availability. Approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $5,000 which will vary depending upon the origination airport and the seasonal fluctuation of hotel rates and air fares. No substitution, transfer, or assignment of prizes is permitted, except that Publisher reserves the right to substitute a prize of like or equal value in the event the offered prize is unavailable. All travel must be completed within one (1) year from the date the Grand Prize is awarded. All taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. Publisher and their respective employees and affiliates are not responsible for any claims, injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the awarding, delivery, acceptance, use, misuse, inability to use, possession, loss or misdirection of any prize, or from participation in this Contest or in any activity related thereto. The prizes are awarded “AS IS” and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose).

8. Contest Winners’ Notification: Contest winners and grand prize finalists will be notified by telephone and mail on or before May 16, 2010. All winners must sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability and Assignment of Rights so it is received within 7 days of date of notification, or an alternate winner will be selected. Promptly after confirmation of winners, the $50 Safeway gift cards will be mailed to the prize winners. A representative of the Publisher will work with the Grand Prize Winner to determine travel dates. The Publisher will make the hotel reservations and arrangements. The Grand Prize winner will be solely responsible for any fees or charges resulting from changes to the reservations after they are made by Publisher. 9. Conditions: By participating in this Contest, each entrant agrees that: [A] he/she will abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the Publisher’s decisions; [B] the submitted recipe and related material becomes solely the Publisher’s property and will not be acknowledged or returned; and [C] submission of the recipe entry shall constitute entrant’s grant to Publisher of the exclusive ownership of and right to reproduce, modify, create derivative works of, display, perform and publish (in any media including online media) the submitted recipe and related material, and to edit, use, transfer or sell the same in any other fashion, including, but not necessarily limited to, culinary programs, in-store demonstrations, recipe cards, etc., for all commercial, advertising/trade and editorial purposes – this grant of ownership rights shall be worldwide and in perpetuity, without further notification, permission, or additional compensation to the entrant, except where prohibited. Publisher’s decision as to the precise manner in which it may use a recipe, description, entrant’s name and/or city of residence, shall be final and binding.

ENTRANTS, BY THEIR PARTICIPATION, AND WINNERS, IN ACCEPTING THEIR PRIZES, AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE PUBLISHER AND AFFILIATES FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS OF LIABILITY OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER AGAINST THE PUBLISHER AND/OR THE SPONSOR AFFILIATES, INCLUDING ANY ACCIDENT, LOSS, INJURY OR DEATH OCCURRING FROM THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR IN ANY WAY RELATED TO THE PRIZES OR USE/MISUSE THEREOF OR WHILE TRAVELING TO AND/OR FROM A LOCATION TO OBTAIN OR USE A PRIZE.
